Young Attenborough tapes.

You can now buy the Young Attenborough demo tape from our Big Cartel page. It's two pounds and you get a choice of two different designs/colours. Both come in a lovely card case which was designed by our good friend Mr Lewis Scott-Dyson. There's only gonna be 25 of each made so get your ruddy skates on if you want one. Of course you can still download the songs for free by clicking....... here.

Young Attenborough

Hey everyone. This will be SHTDT006...

Young Attenborough are a pop punk band from Southampton. I play bass in them, but what is the point in running a boutique tape label if you can't put out releases from your own band. The tape will hopefully be out at some point in January, I guess. They (we) would also like to play some gigs in the new year, email youngattenborough@gmail if you can oblige.

Some good things...

It's always exciting when some of your favourite bands do a split record where they cover each others songs. The 15 year old me was thrilled when NOFX and Rancid did it, and now the 25 year old me is even more delighted that Calvinball, ONSIND are Apologies, I Have None have done a similar thing. If I'm any good at embedding tiny bandcamp players you should be able to listen to a couple of songs below...

It's being released on a one sided 12" by Specialist Subject Records and you can pre-order it here. This has nothing to do with Something Honest To Dance To by the way, I just think it's awesome.

Also while we're on the subject of cool splits that are coming out soon, you can stream some songs off of the new Some Sort Of Threat / Olive Anne tape over at the What We Should Be Doing page. Rory and Livi are two awesome lovely people so I'm sure the split will be awesome and lovely too. Again, it's nowt to do with SHTDT, I just like it is all.

The tapes are out!

So the Cycle Schmeichel tapes are now released. The cases arrived yesterday and I speedily got to work with a stanley knife and some pritt stick (yup, I use the big brands) to have them ready for the evening gig. Here's a picture I nicked off of Cyc Schmeic's tumblr...

They were screen-printed on recycled card by the lovely mikee of Vino Sangre who also designed the artwork and is a stand up gent. Check out their website cos they do alot of cool stuff. If you wanna buy a tape click right HERE and be my guest. There's only 30 of them made though so be quick about it. If you're not the kinda person who goes around spending £2.50 on a tape without knowing EXACTLY what there letting themselves in for then click on THESE WORDS and have a listen, or even a free download if you want. Go on, treat yourself.

So what's next? Probably a Young Attenborough demo tape in the hopefully not too distant future, that's what.

Pre-orders! Free Downloads!

So you know that Cycle Schmeichel tape that I'm putting out? Well you can now get it for totally free download over on the ole bandcamp page, along with everything else I've put out. All you have to do is click on that image just below these words....

Cool! The actual tapes will hopefully be out by the 20th October. I'm duplicating them as we speak! The artwork is being screen-printed by mikee at vinosangre and will look something like that image above, but more tape shaped. Rad! There's only gonna be 30 made so if you wanna pre-order head over to the Big Cartel page real sharpish like. Did I mention the tapes are green? x

Yo, get into it!

Hello everyone, I hope you are all feeling ok.

The Cycle Schmeichel tape will be out soon, I promise! The're playing a gig in Southampton on the 20th October and it will DEFINITELY be out by then, but if things go well it may even be out before then. In the meantime you can hear one of the hits that will feature on said tape on a new (and free!) Get Into It Records compilation, which also features lots of other great twiddly-emo stuff. Man, that twiddly-emo scene is in fine health at the moment, which reminds me, you could do a lot worse than checking out the mighty Ten Speed Bicycle (who are also on the comp) because they are really good. HERE is a totally band-approved mediafire link to the split they did with Dividers recently.
